Shirley Muldowney (b. June 19, 1940, Schenectady, New York), the “First Lady of Drag Racing” was the first woman to receive a licence to drive a top fuel dragster by the NHRA. She won the NHRA Top Fuel championship in 1977, 1980 and 1982. After a crash in 1984 she was sidelined for a long period but returned to the circuit in the late 1980s. She continued to race, mostly without major sponsorship, throughout the 1990s in IHRA competition as well as match-racing events. She returned to the NHRA towards the end of her career, running select events until her retirement at the end of 2003. Shirley Muldowney was famous for driving a shocking pink dragster.

Smakołyk dla koneserów – smells like Pinky Violence to me.
Otro carnal mio La Terrible Enfermedad cuyos colores favoritos caben fácilmente en el espectro entre negro y feldgrau pero quien no tiene limites en su exploración musical (La Bestia sabe bien de que habla) publico últimamente en su blog post acerca de un disco particularmente rosa: Kokotsu no Sekai de Ika Reiko reeditada últimamente por Tiliqua Records. Gourmet pa Conocedores – smells like Pinky Violence to me.

Foteczka zrobiona w Warszawie (na Żolu) ubiegłej wiosny. Różowe Fryzury tak jak i Różowe Pudle zaliczyć należałoby już do klasyki różu (tutaj mamy swoiste dwa w jednym) – dedykowałem temu tematowi osobną planszę w dokumentacji prezentowanej na wystawie tak więc pozwolę sobie jedynie powtórzyć: Druga połowa wieku XX wydaje się napiętnowana tyleż przez muzyków co ich fryzjerów. Fryzura stała się jedną z podstawowych form tak kontestacji jak i znakiem przynależności do różnorodnych ruchow kontr-kulturowych począwszy od dzieci kwiatów, przez punkowców aż do wygolonych skinheadów i dresiarzy. Na obraz jaskrawo kolorowych włosów natknąłem sie po raz pierwszy w wieku lat 9 w powieści fantastyczno-naukowej Roberta Silverberga “Człowiek w labiryncie” * Dziś podobne manifestacje, utraciły w znacznej mierze charakter prowokacji – zasymilowane przez kulturę powszechna czy wręcz sprostytuowane przez massmedia i reklamę – gwałtowne reakcje budzić mogą jedynie w społecznościach skrajnie konserwatywnych, a i tam na poziomie instynktownej agresji jedynie.

* Było to emocjonujące – tym bardziej, że ich posiadaczka była dziewczęciem ze wszech miar wyzwolonym – miała zdaje się ufarbowane też futerko na wzgórku wenery i pływała na golasa w jeziorze na jakiejś odległej planecie. W tej samej książce nomen omen zetkąłem się również po raz pierwszy z postacią Marilyn Chambers i to na dokładkę w stroju zakonnicy 🙂
** Fue excitante! – mas aun porque si recuerdo bien la chica tenia tenido también vello pubico y nadaba desnuda en el lago en algun planeta lejano – lo que afecto fuertemente mi imaginación. De hecho en el mismo libro por primera vez en mi vida me tope con el personaje de Marilyn Chambers y a de mas vestida de monja 🙂
