PINK BRIDGE OK :)

Pink Bridge – view from the bottom towards interior.

Dear PINK’s

The Pink Bridge I designed for San Diego’s New Children’s Museum opening show is finally done 🙂 Many thanks to Alberto Caro who invited me to participate in the exhibition, Rachel Teagle who give the follow up to my project and to my whole work team – as much to the permanent executors specially Helen (the head of work team) – as to all the volunteers that help to made it. The Pink Bridge was executed between march 16th and April 2nd 2008. Official Museum opening is scheduled for May 4th. I am still missing images from the mirror wall on the bridge interior anyway you can see the work in progress in 12 images sequence at my flicker.

Dear PINK’s

Cukierkowy Most – Mój projekt dla nowego Muzeum Dziecka w San Diego. The interior I am planning to do with gradient applied over three-dimensional structure that will work sort of like Agam paintings. On one side of the structure five different pink shades will be painted, on the other I want to apply mirrors that will give the continuity to the gradient and create optical effect of mixing and fragmentation the image of passing children. Planned for May 2008 🙂

Case #1 – Pink and Gray Gradients:

Two different patterns on two sides of the structure. One visble on te way in, another on the way out. If you just turn standing on the bridge the change of the view will happen

Pink gradient visible when entering the Museum

Gray gadient visble when leaving the Museum

Case #2 – Pink Gradient and Mirrors:

Instead of painting two different patterns on two sides of the 3D structure – one side can be mirror (simulated by blue color)

When using mirror the painted pattern is reflected on the mirror creating the illusion of continuity

Fragmentation of the image of passing children will happen on the mirror

In the case of two different color patterns (Pink and Grey) This is the view when entering. In the case of the mirror solution bridge will look pink on both ways.
