PINK NIGHTS

Aurora borealis in Alaska

Dear PINK’s

My heart flow north, I am attracted to the pole, missing the White Nights… again I don’t know If I can drop to Sankt Petersburg this June but I would try – once you tested them you become addict – the bitter-sweet longing remains at the bottom of your soul – endless day is like a bite of endless life 🙂

I never seen northern lights but I am already longing for them. Seams like solar winds are at they peak around equinox so this isn’t exacty the best moment to write about auroras but it happened that right now I am sunken deeply into the Pullman‘s Trilogy and my head is full of them. Please enjoy one of the shinny fragments from this obscure book:

The sight filled the northern sky; the immensity of it was scarcely conceivable. As if from Heaven itself, great curtains of delicate light hung and trembled. Pale green and rose-pink, and as transparent as the most fragile fabric, and at the bottom edge a profound and fiery crimson like the fires of Hell, they swung and shimmered loosely with more grace than the most skillful dancer. Lyra thought she could even hear them: a vast distant whispering swish. She was moved by it: it was so beautiful it was almost holy; she felt tears splintered the light even further into prismatic rainbows. […] And as she gazed, the image of a city seemed to form itself behind the veils and streams of translucent color: towers and domes, honey-colored temples and colonnades, broad boulevards and sunlit parkland. Looking at it gave her a sense of vertigo, as if she were looking not up but down, and across a gulf so wide that nothing could ever pass over it. It was a whole universe away.

I am mesmerized by this man – I am finishing “His Dark Materials” right now – this is the best fantasy I’ve read since ages and the best fantasy written ever I would dare to say. Big thanks to AB for introducing me to Pullman’s Univerese 🙂

Hitsuji-yama Park, Saitama City, Japan

Dear PINK’s

Spring is at the door ( ( ( ( (( ((( ❤ ))) )) ) ) ) ) I am a bit worried that I will miss blossoming orchards at my Warsaw Headquarters (>_<) still my heart will be there :) As my next tribute to the Queen of Seasons I would like to share with U my latest "post-sakura" discovery - I do not know if anybody will celebrate the phenomena right now considering Japan's catastrophic condition anyway here it is: Shibazakura - Burle Marx in Living Color ✿✿✿✿✿✿✿ !

SPATULE ROSE

Spatule Rose etching, courtesy of greyherbert, perhaps by Francois Nicolas Martinet?

Dear PINK’s

Dziś Roseate Spoonbill (Ajaja ajaja) – Różowy Rybołów a właściwie Warzęcha różowa (Platalea ajaja) – What else need I say? :>

PINK BLIZZARD

Dear PINK’s

I am back in Mexico – three days only in the Monster City then a week in Paradise and again back to Battlefield Warsaw – it seams that my next show is at Zachęta National Gallery December 6th – I am excited and slightly terrified – the cube is gargantuan 🙂 Lust Looking Terror closes Thursday so the last chance to see it is exactly now. As I am a bit obsessed with snakes lately and doing massive research of the photo material over the web so some more pink herpes for pink hungry eyes: just hatched Baby Cornsnakes. Cute – aren’t they?

From the other hand it reminded me that some time ago I was searching You Tube under the world “Pinky” and rather than clips with cute little fingers starring I was constantly finding videos depicting snakes devouring baby mice. Pretty nasty stuff – sort of “Legal Snuff” that I find revolting to watch but that stands for perfect example of the product of this bloody repulsion-desire dualism that most human share. The desire to rape our eyes – that means far more than pornography.

PINK BLOSSOM

Pink Blossom by Kurt Laitenberger at Flicker.

Dear PINK’s

I speak today with my mom – she said that orchard by our house are in blossom already – Orchards… last year I spend there most of spring nights. Morning when white and pink snow falls against the sun is a perfect moment to die. Better even when some naiad holds gently your head… I made quite a lot of pictures but photographing such ethereal phenomena is almost an impossible task for me – above picture by Kurt Laitenberger I found on Flicker – lucky guy 🙂 I am going to Warsaw 26th – I hope to catch ad least a bit of this happiness 🙂
