Kilka lat temu Pedro Reyes po raz pierwszy pokazał mi tę malutką różową książeczkę wydaną (nomen-omen) przez Hansa Ulricha Obrista. Zachwyciłem się tak formatem – przypominała bardziej tomik poezji niż album współczesnego artysty – jak tytułem i zawartością. Paul-Armand Gette, dziś już 80-latek, jest twórcą fotografii, obrazów ale może przede wszystkim gestów. Posiada zadziwiającą zdolność celebracji, kreowania sanktuariów. Jego sztuka jest swoistym wyrazem dewocji dla nimf, dla Trójkąta Bermudzkiego dziewczęcych majtek, dla Różowej Lili Dziewictwa. To klasyk perwersji i czytości w jednej osobie. To co Gette pisze we wstępie do “Nymphaeum” (kompletny tekst w wersjii angielskiej umieszczam poniżej) przypomniało mi “Grotę Nimf” jeden z wierszy z “Pieśni Bilitis” Pierre Louysa – jednego z najsubtelniejszych a zarazem najbardziej przekonujących przykładów literatury erotycznej jaki zdarzyło mi się czytać. Z innej strony Mayumi Lake z jej serią pach-aktów też wydaje się należeć do tego samego Panteonu, który łączy szczególna wrażliwośc erotyczna. Zresztą samą “Kulturę Majtek” jako taką również uważam za istotny punkt w Różowym Dyskursie. Niebawem obszerniej tak o “Bilitis”, “Poo-Chi” jak i o samych majtkach. Na razie poświęćmy chwilę milczenia i uwagi Sanktuariom Getta. ////// Hace un par de anos Pedro Reyes por primera vez me enseno este pequeno librito rosa editado por Hans Ulrich Obrist. Me encanto en todo – su formato de un pequeno tomo de poesías, titulo, el contenido. Paul-Armand Gette hoy tiene 80 anos, sigue haciendo fotografías, dibujos pero sobre todo gestos. Tiene una asombrosa capacidad de levantar los santuarios instantáneos. Su arte esta devotamente dedicado a las ninfas, al Triangulo Bermuda de los calzoncillos de ninas, a la Lilia Rosa de la Virginidad. Es un clásico pervertido y puro a la vez. Lo que escribe en la introducción “Nymphaeum” (texto completo abajo) me hizo recordar un poema de “Canciones de Bilits” de Pierre Louys – uno de los libros eróticos mas bellos y logrados que tuve oportunidad de conocer. Por otro lado Mayumi Lake con su serie de fotos de las axilas-actos también la veo como parte de este Panteón de particular sensibilidad erótica. Finalmente “La Cultura de los Calzones” en si la considero un punto importante en el Discurso Rosa. Pronto mas tanto de “Bilitis”, “Poo-Chi” como de Calzones en el Pink Blog. De momento dedican un instante de silencio y atención a los Santuarios de Gette. ////// Few years ago Pedro Reyes showed me for the first time this tiny pink book edited by Hans Ulrich Obrist. The whole thing – its format of a small poetry book, title, content, enchanted me. 80 years old by now Paul-Armand Gette is still doing photographs, paintings but to describe his work maybe the most adequate will be to talk about gestures. He as astonishing capacity to build instant sanctuaries. His art is devotedly dedicated to nymphs, the Bermuda Triangle of Girlies’ Panties, to the Pink Lily of Virginity. He is a classic of the perverted and Pure at the same time. What he writes in the introduction to his “Nymphaeum” (the complete text is included below) made me think of “The Grotto of The Nymphs” – one of the poems from Pierre Louys “The Songs of_Bilitis” – one of the finest and most satisfactory samples of erotic literature I ever read. From the other hand Mayumi Lake and her armpit-acts also seam to belong to the same Pantheon united by particular erotic sensibility. Finally “The Panty-Culture” itself I consider important point In the Pink Discussion. Soon more about “Bilitis”, “Poo-Chi” and panties. Now lets dedicate a moment of silence and attention to Gettes Sanctuaries.

Nymphaeum
You Should not confound life and art, even though the latter is part of the former.
We are all inclined to practise a confusion of the genres, but if this book is ob-scene it is because the ob-scenity has become the subject of my reflections. It was in Berlin during the summer of 1981 that I bought the first pair of young girls’ underpans in a shop that sold everything. After a lady began shouting becouse she could not bear the tought of Scandinavian Alices serving as models, I sought an ironic response to her accusation. despite all interest I had in this pair of underpants, it was not on that particular day that I found a solution to my problem but two months later at Malmö, when I fell under the spell of those “trosor” so prettily embellished with the word “Colour”. From that day on underpans (petite) took their place in the exercice of my art. To the under-garments modest or luxurious, to these adornments which are much more than just protectors of the sex of nymphs or goddesses, I hapily add several products of nature (rose petals, pebbles, shells and most recently the leaves of my dear Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaerther) with which I decorate the pubis of my models. What more beautiful description of the female sex – nymphaeum – that this small temple with a fountain consecrated to the nymphs. There are two of them, relatively discrete but quite present all the same. This book, I hope, will be seen by many readers; “seen” because there is so very little to read, like a temple, the site of attentive devotions by the author.
