Today Pink eggs of edible applesnail – a principal carrrier of Angiostrongylus cantonensis a parasitic nematode (roundworm) that causes Angiostrongyliasis – the species considered to be in the top 100 of the “World’s Worst Invasive Alien Species”. Just to top it seam that his eggs contain unique sort of poison: PcPV2 – a neurotoxin with a strong lethal effect on the rodent’s central nervous system. Nice.
